Learning & Fun

Social & Emotional

In a variety of social situations children will grow awareness of their feelings and how to express themselves with thoughtfulness, kindness, patients, and self-control.

Math

Your child will develop math concepts through number recognition, one-to-one correspondence, similarities/differences, and identifying patterns.  Mathematical patterns are also heard and mimicked in music.

 Physical Development

The mind is not superior to the body thus the mind and body are one.  At WFA we teach gross and fine motor skills supporting cognitive development.

Sensory Activities

When children fully engage their senses they learn and retain information.

Art & Music

Opportunities will be given to children to focus on creative expression, listening, and repeating patterns. This area relates to patterns in math and imagination in literacy.

Literacy

Reading and writing should be enjoyable, informative, and express ideas.  Literacy is developed and fostered in our program.

Nature & Science

Students will make meaning of the world by predicting, observing, gathering, and describing what they experience.

Language

Children are guided through their language development and thinking to better express themselves.

Building

Development of critical thinking skills and the ability to problem solve occurs with hands-on inquiry through building, exploration, and discovery.

Dramatic Play

Children will engage their imagination by role-playing as a way of understanding themselves, exploring their surroundings, and practicing conflict resolution.
